Kelly hopes show will light the way to her dream man
2:00pm Saturday 11th February 2012

A WORCESTER woman is hoping her light shines bright as she searches for the man of her dreams.
Kelly Page is appearing as a contestant on ITV’s dating programme Take Me Out, hosted by Paddy McGuinness.
Miss Page said she was hoping to find a decent guy but said it was proving tricky to move away from type as first impressions were key on the show.
Four brave bachelors appear separately on the show hoping to impress the “flirty 30” who each have a light in front of them.
If they don’t like what they see, the light goes out and the boys face going home alone.
The lucky couples who do find their dream date are whisked off to the ‘Isle of Fernandos’ where they take part in activities to get to know each other better.
The girls who don’t find Mr Right one week return each week to continue their search.
The show was actually filmed over a three-week period in November, but Miss Page, of Monarch Drive, St John’s, says she cannot reveal if she finds her dream date or not.
Miss Page, aged 21, said: “I was trying to be open-minded but it’s really hard.
“Every time a guy came on who I wouldn’t usually go for, I was trying to find something interesting about them but I couldn’t.
“I usually go for tanned, muscly guys with good banter and who are quite cocky.”
Miss Page, who reached the final 10 of Miss Worcester in 2009, joined the panel of 30 girls three weeks ago after one lucky lady was chosen.
She said she was looking forward to meeting her dream man after some previously dire dates.
“We went for a meal and we got into a conversation about whether we’d ever been to prison,” she said.
“He told he had got seven years for putting someone in a coma so I walked out.
“Another guy left me waiting for five and a half hours so I told him to forget it.”
Take Me Out is on ITV tonight at 8pm tonight.
