PROFESSIONAL treasure hunters discovered a hoard of old coins when they visited Worcester.
The Treasure Hunters Roadshow has been at the Whitehouse Hotel, Foregate Street, all week with experts on hand to meet the public.
Hundreds of people visited the roadshow with rare and unusual collectables they hoped could be sold for profit.
Treasure collector Graeme Scott said: “We’ve got more pre-decimal coins than I expected. We found some fairly rare coins from the early 1900s. I was quite surprised that there wasn’t more pottery, but there were some more unusual items.
“One man brought in an old Meccano set. We didn’t buy it from him, but gave him the details of some toy collectors and dealers. We had some very nice rings and quite a bit of gold too.”
The roadshow experts tour the UK looking for antique treasures. They recently found a vintage 1960s guitar which was sold for £63,000 and four gold coins which went for £20,000.
