Don’t miss this chance to reclaim rates cash
4:04pm Thursday 18th March 2010
THE clock is ticking for businesses in Worcester to secure their right to reclaim a potential £1.7 million in overpaid rates going back to 2005.
March 31 is the final day on which formal appeals challenging the level of rates paid for the last five years will be accepted by the Inland Revenue’s Valuation Office.
Director and chartered surveyor Nick Wright of ratesrecovery.com said that many firms in Worcester had been paying excessive rates for the last five years but after March 31 they will not be able to reclaim this cash.
Worcester rate paying firms with a rateable value of more than £20,000 can visit, free of charge, ratescheck.co.uk to tell whether they are in a high risk category for having overpaid rates for the last five years”.
